Tuesday was the first time in nearly two years that five NHL teams scored at least six goals on the same day. Air Max 98 Qs Thunder Blue . "Hes going to have hip surgery on Jan. 7, and hell be expected to rehabilitate for four to six months beyond that," Canucks general manager Mike Gillis said Friday in an interview. Air Max 98 Bianche .com) - The Montreal Canadiens embark on their first road trip of the season as they head out west to battle the Calgary Flames on Wednesday night. http://www.airmax98.it/ . According to a report from the Vancouver Province, the Lions are expected to replace former DC Rich Stubler with defensive backs coach Mark Washington. Nike Air 180 Shop Online .com) - Christian Ponder will get another chance to prove himself for the Minnesota Vikings, with head coach Leslie Frazier announcing Wednesday that the struggling quarterback will start this weekends game against the Green Bay Packers. Air Max 98 Bianche Uomo . Denis Coderre, the former federal MP who was elected mayor on Nov. 3, has drawn the ire of some Montreal Canadiens. During last nights game he tweeted: "Hello? Can we get a one-way ticket to (minor-league) Hamilton for David Desharnais please. Carey Price, Cory Schneider and Martin Jones are all doing what fantasy owners paid on draft day for them to do. Weve had some nice surprises such as Cam Talbot, and what looks like a nice rebound from Sergei Bobrovsky. But not all goaltending stories at this point in the season have been positive ones. Just ask Jonathan Quick owners how they are feeling. Heres four guys who were picked in most fantasy leagues and have not offered their owners much in the way of value to start the season. All four are currently ranked No. 39 or worse on the ESPN Player Rater among goaltenders.Corey Crawford, G, Chicago Blackhawks: Why were concerned: A .897 save percentage and only one win in five chances this season. Is the concern legit?: Not at all. The Blackhawks have a horrific and insanely bad penalty kill to begin the season, but they are too good not to fix it soon. Of goaltenders with three or more starts this season, Crawford actually has the best even-strength save percentage in the NHL, at .973. The problem is solely the 12 power-play goals against and .647 save percentage when the Hawks are down a man. Crawford is a great buy-low target.Pekka Rinne, G, Nashville Predators: Why were concerned: An atrocious 3.25 goals-against average and only one win in five starts. Is the concern legit?: Its certainly a fair concern, as there is nothing to suggest Rinne has been given a raw deal in the crease like Crawford. In fact, some of the goals against Rinne have been downright ugly, including a couple where he allowed the Anaheim Ducks to beat him right under his glove on Thursday. This is compounded by the fact that Rinne was not roster-worthy on the whole of last season for fantasy leagues. We were hoping for a bounce-back this season, but he needed a stronger start than this to install confidence. Meanwhile, Juuse Saros is mopping the floor with the AHL and stymied the Pittsburgh Penguins in his one NHL appearance this season.Brian Elliott, G, Calgary Flames: Why were concerned: Fourteen goals allowed in his first three games and a decent showing by Chad Johnson in three games. Is the concern legit?: Were chalking this up to an acclimation period. Fantasys third-best goaltender last season has looked just fine in his last two outings while defeating the elite offenses of the Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues. There is some special teams damage at work here, too, as Elliott has allowed six power-play goals in five games. At even strength, hes allowed the same number of goals per game as Roberto Luongo, Bobrovsky and Henrik Lundqvist, who have all been No. 1 fantasy goaltenders this season.Steve Mason, G, Philadelphia Flyers: Why were concerned: Only three teams have allowed more goals per game than the Flyers this season. Is the concern legit?: Poor Mason has had to make an appearance in every game since the season opener, coming on in relief of Michal Neuvirth twice and starting the other five games. We have to look at the defense for the Flyers here, as both Mason and Neuvirth sport sub-.900 save percentages at even strength this season. While offering some offensive upside, the defensive group for the Flyers skews young on experience. The one positive here is that if the Flyers can turn around their defensive woes, Mason has a leg up on Neuvirth on this timeshare, which could mean possible value for fantasy owners.Fantasy Forecaster: Oct. 31-Nov. 6Happy Halloween! Everyone gets a day off with no NHL games on Monday, but a balanced schedule the rest of the week means only one team is outside the usual three- or four-game week. The Minnesota Wild only have two contests. Trick! The day off and still-busy schedule means 17 teams have a back-to-back set of games during the week, which will mean some backup goaltenders popping up for both DFS and desperate traditional fantasy playeers.ddddddddddddDownload the forecaster chart PDF hereTeam notesWashington Capitals: Not getting the offense they might expect from world-class players like Alex Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Nicklas Backstrom, the Capitals have tinkered with their scoring lines. Ovechkin and Kuznetsov were joined by Andre Burakosky, while T.J. Oshie skated with Backstrom and Marcus Johansson against the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday. It didnt work, as the Capitals managed one goal. If the new combinations have any success on the weekend, get on board with them for next week. A home-and-home set with the Winnipeg Jets will be good for offensive confidence.New York Rangers: Pavel Buchnevich returns to the lineup on Friday and, as we mentioned earlier this week in Open Ice, the Russian rookie had great offensive numbers in his first two games of the season prior to a back injury. The Rangers are also hoping to have Chris Kreider back from a day-to-day neck injury this weekend. That bodes well for the offensive going into a four-game week with a couple of sweetheart matchups sprinkled in. Dont forget to check on Ryan McDonaghs availability in your shallower leagues. His ownership percentage is increasing quickly thanks to his role on the power play, enormous minutes and five-game point streak.Goalie notesNext week, the Montreal Canadiens face two of the three weakest offenses in the NHL so far this season. Those playing the daily game or able to stash a goalie for one start, circle Friday on the calendar for a likely Al Montoya appearance against the Columbus Blue Jackets.Player notesTroy Brouwer, Michael Frolik, Micheal Ferland, Kris Versteeg, Matthew Tkachuk and now Alex Chiasson. The Calgary Flames have played eight games and have had six different wingers try their luck as the third member of the top line with Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan. If we were to rank the lottery ticket value of these players right now, wed look to Versteeg, then Brouwer, followed by Chiasson. At some point, somebody is going to stick on this line and find chemistry. You will want to own that player.Zack Kassian is starting to look intriguing. Remember that Kassian has been first and foremost a penalty minute guy for fantasy leagues. He managed 114 PIM in just 36 games last season with the Edmonton Oilers. So far this season, despite playing 12 minutes per game, Kassian has just two minutes in the sin bin. What he does have is four points in seven games and a consistent role on the Oilers second line with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Benoit Pouliot. If he starts reprising his role as an agitator/enforcer while maintaining that occasional scoring, there is some big fantasy potential here.A few players to toss if you need space in a shallow league right now: Anthony Duclair, Boone Jenner, Justin Williams and Dylan Strome. We can revisit some of them later this season, but they are just taking up space on your roster right now for no reason.A few players to pick up: Mikkel Boedker, Andrew Ladd and Derick Brassard. There hasnt been enough time to declare these guys a waste of fantasy space yet, as they continue to get used to their new surroundings and linemates. All three could potentially play a first-line role for their club for the bulk of the season. Admittedly, the clock is ticking, but we arent 10 percent of the way through the season yet.A few guys who should be owned in every single fantasy league, without exception, but arent: Jonathan Marchessault, Alexander Radulov, Artem Anisimov, Zach Werenski and Cam Fowler. While some of these guys might not be season-long contributors (Marchessault) or be on different teams next week (Fowler), they all need to be owned in your league.
